Welcome to Rock Harbor Golf Course located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley just west of historic Winchester Virginia.
A major benefit of having a working quarry neighboring the golf course is that I had ready access to materials and large equipment most designers don’t have. This win-win scenario came at a time when the quarry needed to move millions of yards of clay to uncover the limestone below. Access to the quarry’s earthmoving equipment allowed for the ability to transport the large boulders and huge amount of clay required to create the unique design and character of the two courses. The boulders you will encounter on the Rock and Boulder courses represent the “ROCK” part of the Rock Harbor name. The “HARBOR” part of the name comes from the numerous water hazards you will encounter. Each water hazard is designed to be aesthetically pleasing while being strategically placed to create unique challenges for you the player.
The holes at Rock Harbor were designed to allow players to exercise several different strategies in playing each hole. Every hole on the property has 6 tee boxes and 9 possible pin placements on their respective green. The tee boxes create a challenge for all skill levels, with total yardage ranging from 3,700 yards on the beginner tee to 7,500 plus yards on the championship back tees. The massive greens each have 9 possible pin placements that allow for a new look and challenge each time you play our courses.
We believe that the 36 uniquely challenging holes will encourage imaginative and creative shot making, the “Risk – Reward” decision will exist somewhere on each hole you play making the experience exhilarating and fun. We are proud of our two World Class caliber golf courses designed to bring you back again and again.

WE’RE EXACTLY WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR
Rock Harbor is comprised of 2 par-72 championship golf courses. The ROCK course and the BOULDER course each have their own personality and challenges. The Rock Course is considered by most to be the least difficult of the two. That is not to say the Rock is not a challenge, it is. While it is fair to say the Rock has fewer elevation changes and the greens are a bit less undulating by comparison to the Boulder, you are still going to need your “A” game. The BOULDER is a true test of golf on many levels due to its length, omnipresent elevation changes and multitiered greens. Both courses offer spectacular scenery and unique hole design that will inspire your round and bring you back again and again.

As a member you will enjoy the opportunity to play our two fabulous courses as often as you may like for one low annual membership fee. Reserve your tee times in advance of our public players allowing you to play when it is convenient for you.
